Magic in Sigmore Mines 2

This post is the one from the "if you have an idea, it's good time to share it with me" series. I was thinking about magic system for Sigmore Mines 2, I have came up with this ideas:

Attack spells:
  • Fire ball
  • Ball of frost
  • Spell what sets monster on fire (for a few turns)
Defense spells
  • Temporary increase of stats
  • Shield spell
Other spells
  • Identification
  • Healing
  • Summoning a friendly monster
  • Seize a monster

Any other ideas? :)

I'd really love to see a small spell (1 level, never increases, low points) that lets you convert healing potions to mana potions (and vice versa). Half the time I wind up with 6 healing potions and no mana, which is bad for a wizard. ;)

I'd also love to be able to cast a spell at a lower level. Sometimes I know a monster is almost dead, and don't want to waste the mana of a 8 level spell on it, but can't hit it physically. Casting at 2 would kill it, but I have to use 8. :P

Tip taken :) selecting level of the spell and spell which convert hp to mana (mana to hp is just a healing spell ;)), although I'm not sure if mana will make into final version of SM2, as I'm thinking about changing game mechanics a bit, but I will write about my ideas in my next post ;).

Hum.. what about teleport ? :]

I think it will be great to have sprites for spells : inferno, wave, ball, lightning...
The informations (HP, comments) can be in a little fonts more discret without the actual information screen, under the figth.

Monster's stats is usefull, keep it ;)
In the same idea, a map spell to see the map (and an other speel to reveal it)

And also, for the speel : give the max lvl, not anly the actual one (at this moment i don't know lvl for SM1.. just that i can achieve lvl40 frosen ball)

Mana cost will be better if it don't increase like that with lvl. Alternatively, a partial cast of a spell is a good idea.

A quick lauch speel will be conveniant : in SM1 playing a kight is more easy at grow up : you just run for monsters :p

For the gameplay of speels, move etc, it is better to reduce the number of times you have to push button : shortkeys for speels as i said or keep down button for walking.

oh, don't forget the town portal ;)
